Workbook: DS+R debuts Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive

Located at the intersection of Oxford and Center Streets, directly across from the UC Berkeley campus, BAMPFA‘s new home integrates the former UC Berkeley Printing plant with a new structure. Totaling 83,000 square feet, BAMPFA features 25,000 square feet of gallery spaces, two film theaters, a performance forum, study centers and an outdoor LED screen. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the museum marks the studio’s third California building to open in the past year, following The Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles and the McMurtry Art and Art History Building at Stanford University.
