FORM Magazine at the Fourth Annual Opportunity Green Conference

FORM magazine was lucky to attend the fourth annual Opportunity Green Business Conference on September 22 through the 24th. Editor-in-Chief Caren Kurlander was extremely impressed and inspired by addresses from the President of the Los Angeles City Council, Eric Garcetti, as well as other exchanges of green industry practices from leaders and entrepreneurs such as Patagonia, BMW Designworks,, Siemens Inc, and sponsor Coca-Cola. Other panel discussions ranged in topics from developing sustainable business strategies to green innovation and carbon mapping.

New to this years conference was the expansion of the Opportunity Green 25 eco-startup competition, which has showcased the 25 most innovative economically conscious startups across the country, to include a competition among the 25 cutting edge eco-products. Life Box, a company focused on environmentally friendly packing material, was selected as the OG Innovative Product Design winner by conference attendees, through their text and tweet votes.  Zimride, a growing rideshare program, was awarded the Innovative Eco Startup award.

Gensler's Principle Architect created and directed the innovative design of the mixed-use areas at the Los Angeles Center Studio. The impeccably designed spaces allowed for mingling of both attendees and speaker  and created a space for sharing innovative thoughts and ideas.

For more information about the conference and to see more pictures of the event, visit the Opportunity Green 2010 Website.
