Maltzan and Burnett's Central Park at Playa Vista

The recently opened 7.9-acre Central Park at Playa Vista, a park that was designed by Michael Maltzan, Architecture in collaboration with the Office of James Burnett, features a fun-looking meringue-like event shell. The Argonaut has more on the park's opening, while Burnett's web site has a tidy description of the berm garden, the function lawn, the performance pavilion, the sports courts, and the children’s garden.

Central Park at Playa Vista features a wide variety of recreational facilities including an artificial turf soccer field, a sand volleyball court, full basketball court and an area for bocce ball. The highlight of the new park, Playa Vista officials say, is the band shell performance area, which provides an outdoor venue for concerts, children’s plays, movies and theater performances.

The Playa Vista park is located at 13141 Fountain Park Drive, Playa Vista, CA 90094. For more information, visit the Playa Vista Website.
