Morphosis Wins International Competition for Eni in San Donato Milanese

A team lead by Morphosis Architects and including Nemesi Studio (architectural design partner), Setec TPI (structures designer), Setec Batiment (plants designer), and Pasodoble (landscape architect) has won an international competition for the conceptual design of the new Eni Exploration & Production Business Center in San Donato Milanese, Italy. The project will mark Eni’s first foray into San Donato Milanese.

The competition included 50 original entrants and ten finalists from the international design community. The competition tasked entrants with a concept design for the new Exploration & Production Business Center for Italian oil and gas company Eni. The new center will have an area of 65,000 square meters, including 60,000 square meters of office space and 5,000 square meters for services.

Besides materials and angles typical of Morphosis, a large central courtyard is perhaps the design’s most striking feature, evoking the public square as the centerpiece of this massive private business center. The Business Center is expected in time for the 2015 Milan Expo.
