Outdoor Living: Seeking Shelter

Shelter Outdoors modular outdoor systems offer flexible, durable prefabricated solutions for outdoor living. Image via Shelter Outdoor. Spring is finally here and with it is the desire to spend as much time as possible outside (at least that’s true in our case). For clients, particularly hospitality clients, wanting to make the most of the season, Shelter Outdoor offers a great option—their Shelter system of pre-fabricated modular shelter systems.

Thomas Bongaerts, the company’s COO breaks it down this way: “The whole Shelter system is extremely robust and thoughtfully designed; the extruded aluminum frame and stainless steel components are weather proof and designed for an easy installation. The pieces are built to snap and slide into each other (i.e., no extra work in the field cutting parts) so that when complete it proves extremely rigid. The basic system with motorized louvered roof has been successfully tested to withstand up to 100 mph winds.”

The system can be easily customized, too. All that’s needed are architectural drawings of the space where it’s intended. Shelter Outdoor’s designers will configure a system to fit that area. Have a big space that needs to be covered? It’s not a problem—the units, which can be mounted or freestanding—can be sized to fit any space.

You also have the option of some snazzy add-ons to make things even easier and craftily extend the summer long into wetter, cooler, windier months. For those not in a dry, temperate climate, there are optional heaters and side screen walls. Rain sensors will automatically close the louvers, while wind sensors will automatically lower the side panels. And to keep things going into the night, LED lights can be mounted in the louvers themselves or in the perimeter of the shelter, so rain or shine, day or night, you can continue to revel in the outdoors.
