Aura Lamp by French Design Team Océane Delain and Béatrice Durandard

The AURA lamp, created by French designers Océane Delain and Béatrice Durandard, combines age-old craftsmanship and modern technology. Strands of rattan are interwoven with flexible strips of LED lights during the weaving process, working them directly into the structure of the object.

Aura won first price in the 'Adream' European architecture and design competition. The two French designers recieved a grant to further develop and manufacture the product. The first prototypes are on currently on display at Espace Saint-Valentin in Lausanne, Switzerland until March 13, 2011.
