Architecture for Humanity Sponsoring a Playground Development Competition

Go Play Project is an international non-profit organization that builds playgrounds in developing countries. Sponsored by Architecture for Humanity, the project is putting on a competition called Play for All. Contestants will design a playground that will be built for a refugee school along the border of Burma and Thailand.
The competition aims to promote education through the act of play, a facet often skipped over in the process of bringing education to developing countries. The Go Play Project is looking for cost-effective playground design that can be adapted and installed by nearly anyone. The playgrounds should be innovative in their use of safe and eco-friendly materials. The winner of the competition will ideally travel to Thailand to install the playground and work with the community to build it and learn about the necessity of play in a child's life.
