10-10-10 IMAGE.ARCHITECTURE.NOW, Woodbury University Symposium and Exhibition Celebrates Julius Shulman
In celebration of the 100th birthday of famed architectural photographer Julius Shulman, the Julius Shulman Institute at Woodbury University is presenting 10-10-10 IMAGE.ARCHITECTURE.NOW, a symposium and exhibition exploring the intersections between photography and the built environment. On Saturday, October 9th, a panel discussion, moderated by architect Neil Denari and historian Kazys Varnelis, will include a conversation between esteemed architects and photographers, including Iwan Baan, who will be presented the first annual Julius Shulman Photography Award during the fundraising dinner on Sunday, October 10th. Actress Diane Keaton will receive the Julius Shulman Communications Award.
The symposium panel discussions will be held from 3-6 PM, with limited seating. The exhibition opening, from 6-9PM, will showcase the photographs of artists, such as Julius Shulman, Catherine Opie and Iwan Baan, whose work explores questions regarding an individual's personal and emotional experience to architecture.
