2011 San Francisco Architecture and the City Festival

The 9th annual Architecture and the City Festival will be held September 1-30 in San Francisco, with "Architecture of Consequence" as the theme selected by AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design. Programs will address the roles of architects and designers in improving communities in terms of sustainability, creativity and quality of life.

The Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) and four Bay Area design firms will come together in the Architecture of Consequence: Dutch Designs on the Future exhibition to demonstrate how progressive design and creative problem solving can be applied to major urban issues such as decreased social cohesion.

Individuals will be able to experience design as they interact with the architectural community and enjoy films, exhibitions, workshops, food tastings, tours and more. San Francisco Living: Home Tours (September 17-18) will feature different cutting-edge architectural styles, homes and neighborhoods, including single and multi-family homes and renovations.
