PRODUCT: Dino Lamp for Voos Furniture

New York-based designer Deger Cengiz has designed the Dino Lamp for the Brooklyn-based company Voos Furniture. The desk lamps have flexible necks that can be moved and positioned for the best possible lighting. The lamps, available in green, grey and red are covered in felt, and are also recycleable! The neck grows out of a cup-like base that can hold anything from pens to a plant. The lamp uses an LED bulb making it perfect for a mini-planter, provided you remember to water it!

The lamp debuted at ICFF, the 24th Annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair in May.

COLLECTION: Cactus Chair

Architect Deger Cengiz explores the effect of visual data on the user’s experience with his living Cactus Chair. The limited-edition prickly design features a green-tinted glass seat hovering precariously above a Barrel Cactus planted in river stones and dirt.

“The existence of the cactus gives a temporary discomfort,” explains Cengiz. "Even though the user knows that the cactus behind the glass is not a real threat."

The Cactus Chair was presented by Voos Furniture during New York Design Week 2010.
